Media Explorer on 64bit machine

Has anyone tried installing Media Explorer on a 64bit machine? According to the 8.0 documentation, Media Explorer is a 32 bit app allowed to install on 64 bit windows but when I try to actually run setup, I get the error that I am trying to install the 32 bit version on this 64 bit computer and that is not allowed. I really don't want to have to setup a 32 bit server and reassign our tape library every time we want to use Media Explorer.
