I am using backup exec 8.5 and using a media set with 4 medias. Full back up on fridays and differential on all other days. I tried full back up on friday and it says media cannot be overwritten insert a overwritable media. I have media overwrite Protection for 3 weeks and append for 1 week. The checked the media to c if the media overwrite tab was pressed but it is not. Whats the solution???
Thanx

Remember, Overwrite Protection Period starts at the end of each job run. IE. Since your Append Period is set for a week, for one week data can be appended to the media. Your OPP would start after the last append job is written to tape. If the append job happens on the last day of the week, then the OPP count starts over from there giving you an effective Overwrite Protection Period of 4 weeks.
Hope this helps!
