Media bay modules of different types on the same bus

Can I put an asm8+ and a dsm16+ on the same bus?
What are the guidelines of the types of modules that can share a bus?

This is how I have the cards:

bus 2: dsm 32+
bus 3: dsm 32+
bus 4: dsm 16+ on half of bus 4 and asm8+ on a quarter of th bus
bus 5: gatm4
bus 6: dtm
bus 7: dtm

You have to have like modules on each bus. The easiest solution is to replace the DSM 16 with a 32, and use ATAs on that bus instead of the ASM 8. The other solution would be to replace the DSM 16, and use IP sets, which is a whole nother story

I always thought I could have station modules with Analog station modules on the same bus. So if I have any single ASM on the BCM then that bus is essentially gone? I can't put anything else on that bus but other ASMs?
