We recently upgraded our PBX to ip connect with a dedicated private network handling inter-PN communications. At the same time I have a Med-Pro and C-LAN handling VOIP Softphone sessions that is connected to a public corporate network. Each network has its own dedicated network region. And I do not have the option of joining the two networks. Currently users who use voip and not able to establish voice paths to other phones in other PNs because the networks are separate. Is there any way I can setup the two network regions so that the PN that houses the public MedPro can act as a "Pass Thru" to the MedPro that is connected to the private network and allow my voip users to talk to all of the other resources

Thanks,

If you are IP connect you must have a MedPro for each port network in order for the port networks to be able to talk to each other. There is no such thing as "a dedicated private network handling inter-PN communications" in an IP Connect PBX. In an IP Connect PBX the port networks talk via the IPSI's for signaling and the MedPro's for voice.

If I understand you correctly the network regions aren't your issue, your phones can't talk to the other port networks on your PBX.

We do have a private network dedicated to intra PN ipsi and medpro communications (Its a long story). All of my phones are TDM and we do not use VOIP for any other communications except intra PN. All users using Softphone only use telecommuter and never road worrier. I however have the need to POC some Ip phones on the public network and cannot get the two sides talking. Any help is appreciated

Have you set up your DHCP scope, TFTP server and the like with the call server info so the phones can pick up an IP and actually find the CLAN and relevant settings and firmware info?

Yes I am hardcoding everything. Phone is green and can talk to all objects in the same PN. Problem is when i talk to an objects in a different PN.

There are two options to fix your problem.
1) move all of the MedPros(crossfire) boards onto a vlan that is routable to the public network you wish to reach or
2) install a medpro in each PN that needs to communicate with the public network.
