Hi

MECS runs on Linux and I have been told that it may run standalone or integrated with MD110.
If standalone , is there a possibility to have digital trunks towards PSTN ? How is this done if yes ? Through PCI cards on the Linux server ?

Simple one , which Linux kernel version minimum and Linux distributor has Ericsson chosen for MECS ?

Hi duvel,

Yes, you can (of course) use digital trunks. MECS will be delivered with hardware, this hardware is the place where you physically connect the trunks.

The Linux dist MECS is being tested on is SuSE, but I would not be surprised if other distributions will work as well at release time. Linux kernel should be the latest available stable one at the release time.
