Hi,

Does anybody know of a utility that can measure the transfer rate when copy and moving files on a local hard drive (or between several local hard drives)?

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 on a laptop with a couple of external (USB) hard drives.

Thanks in advance

Yeah, check out both utilities that Nelviticus mentioned. Also, this site has a lot of good info and benchmarks you can reference:

Thanks for the replies.

IOMeter looked promising, but unless I have mis-understood how to use it, it does not appear to do what I want it to do.

I would like to have a "meter" that shows the rate at which data is copied from one place to another. The speed at which data is copied or moved seems to vary when there are other processes running and I would like to be able to monitor the transfer rates. Much the same way that I can monitor upload and download speeds from the Internet.
