I have a report to provide that requires a distinct count of products available for a given promotion. This is obviously a count of the members in a dimension.

Does anyone know how to get that measure into the fact table, so that MS AS can build a cube with that measure in it?

Thanks.

Hmmm.......might have solved this myself.

What I will do is aggregate the order details to match the granularity of the product dimension (i.e. product/colour), then use a left outer join from the product table to that aggrgated order table to create the source for my fact table.

Anyone disagree with that approach?

why not using an select adhoc query and a group by product only on this dimension?
or you can also create a materialized view?
i am not an expert but it's probably possible
