Trying to uninstall ME for many reasons...program locks, system locks, lost data, etc., etc. This was an upgrade from Win 98, and I saved the Win 98 restore data when prompted. Problem is when I run ME uninstall it tries to do a diskscan and appears to lock and get stuck trying to read the allocation files and file folders and bounces back and forth betwen the two......and there I sit!!! Also I tried to re-install ME but to no avail...Thank You in advance for any, and I mean ANY, help, even if it's just a guess or just pure Karma...thanks OH! one last thing...when I run scandisk outside of the uninstall program it works just fine..hope that helps. try running a thorough scan, rather than just the normal one. [sig]<p>Karl<br><a href=mailto:kb244@kb244.com>kb244@kb244.com</a><br><a href= </a><br>Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)<br>

Mmmm, uninstalling ME. My advice, you shouldnt have done that. ME has many ways of making a mess of things when you try to uninstall, I know. I did it myself. Best pice of advice is to Fdisk and try again from fresh with 98. If you dont, you'll find lots of little ME presies sitting absaloutly everywhere on the system. Oh and dont try to make a win98 boot disk, you'll only end up with the limited ME version!
