ME Shutdown/USB/Scanner/Scanning Software

Maybe a coincidence but I just updated my Voodoo Banshee drivers in Win ME and now everytime I shut down I get a blue screen - "exception 0E occurred at 0028:C0009455 in VxD---. This was called from 0028:C002F0E9 in VxD---".
I can't recover from blue screen.
Possible further coincidence - my USB HP 3300C has also stopped working. HP software will not load, nor will Omnipage.

Any ideas?????

at this point, do a restore from earlier date. go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore.

this will bring you to a screen asking you about a way point. if none were logged it will do it from this point after the restore. you will have an option to restore back to a date before the problems started. remember you will loose any thing installed after the restore date. so being saturday you can restore back to last wednesday or earlier.

when i install a program on my winme machine and i have problems.. this is how i restore the machine back to the working state before the install. you might want to uninstall the program(s) first so they are taken of the HD first, than restore

I just addressed a similar problem in another thread. To sum it all up. I had the exact same problem. When I upgraded to ME my HP3300C scanner wouldn't work and my USB ports all went down. The scanner software wouldn't even load.

To fix this you need to go to HPs website and download an ME compatable driver. The same things goes for any other hardware you have. I updated the drivers for my CDRom, printer and sound blaster.

Now everythings works fine.
