has anyone managed to get the Negotiate Toolbars option to function properly in VB6?

i have a tree view (overlaying a picture) on the left side of the MDI form and when the MDI Child is opened it maximises into the remaining area as expected, but the toolbar does not become one with the MDI form?

any help appreciated....
m

Have you tried Placing the toolbar in a statusbar? I had the same problem until I resolved to do it this way.

                                   John Stephens

John, have checked the help and there's no indication of how to do this, also if i can do it - how does this avoid the same problem as it seems it would only make the status-bar a container for the toolbar, but the placement issue will still exist?

john, also (sorry about the second post!) having placed a statusbar on the MDI parent and child form, on maximising the child form the statusbar simply mamimises across the horizontal as far as the Picture control on the left (which contains the TreeView navigation). i think the real fault lies in the fact the Negotiate property not funtioning as one would expect.
cheers
m
