I am experiencing a problem that is rather strange. I have an Access 2000 database that I have converted to an .mde for deployment to users in my team. The strange thing is that the .mdb file opens in approximately 5-6 seconds while it takes almost 40 seconds to open the first form with the .mde file. I was under the impression that .mde files are somewhat more optimized than a .mdb and should therefore open more quickly? The database has been split into a FE and BE and each user has a copy of the FE running on their workstation. I have gone through the process of decompiling all of the code and then recompliling in hopes of increasing performance. I am going to continue to search the forums but if anyone can offer a suggestion it would be appreciated.
