.mde link problem

I have an Access 2000 .mde db on a server. I want users to be able to open it from the server w/o saving it to thier hd.

I have a link to the file:

S:\Special Intererst Folders\UMIS\Admin\UMIS2K.mde

but when the link is clicked, and the file download dialog box is brought up, the option to open w/o saving is blacked out, all that users can do is save it.

Any thoughts?

If you want to open it you need the whole command line.
