Hello,

I have an MS Access DB, I hide tables with the properties tab, I ensure the Options/View does not show hidden objects.

Yet when I convert the DB to an MDE, the tables are back visible and accesible again, why?

Also i have the start up option to not even show the database window, yet it still appears minimised in the bottom left corner and is accessible to anyone.

How do I lock the DB down and make the settings i've made stick?

I am talking through my hat, but I think the hidden properties are different in MDE so you would have to change the coding (if they get set on and off by ur code[I also have the same peice of junk coding for form access :)])

For locking the DB down, good luck......

Btw im really not sure of my answer....

The way I have managed to hide the tables in the MDE was using the same method as with the MDB, the fact converting an MDB to MDE looses these settings is probably due to the fact i'm using MS software more than anything, but what can ya do.

At least I have a work round even though it's a real pain in the ass, having to re-hide everything 1 table at a time.

Still can't work out why the option under start up doesn't work, I think I read something to do with creating users as having no users means everyone auto runs the db as administrator.

Can anyone throw some light on this please?
