mde creation form converted 2000 file format

I converted a 2000 format to 2002, and split the database. I then tried to make a mde file out of the front end and it simply returned the message "cannot make the mde file" with no further explanation.

I created a database from scratch in 2002 format, and a mde was created no problem.

Am I going to have redo all of my old databases??

I even tried creating a blank 2002 database, and importing everything from the 2000 database hoping to trick it, and that did not work.

Did the FE database compiles properly before the conversion to mde ?

Not being a programmer, if by compile you mean "split" properly into the front end and back end, yes it did.

When in the FE go to the VBE (Alt+F11), menu Debug -> Compiles ...
