Dear All,

Can anyone Pls advice for the probable cause of not being able to connect to MD110 using MDDT ...

I did try connecting directly using a switch with the PC & MD110...No success...

Connection settings were working fine for almost three months for four Local & remote sites..IT guys messed up somewhere & can't explain what could be the cause...
I can use the same connection & user settings for Telnet without any problem...

On MDDT window, it shows me connection closed & when i tries to connect it gives error message " connection with the server was reset "
On help file it says that check the server & make sure it is up & running... How can i check this ??

No problems with my HDU's for sure as i can see activity LED's while dumping etc...

We have BC12 SP 6-8 on various sites...

Any ideas ???

Hi

MDDT and Telnet does not used the same connection or settings.
Telnet uses port 23 and MDDT, as FTP application, uses port 21.
Have you checked with other FTP client software that you were able to connect?

Then you should check the setting of the customer in the applicatyion CDA from SAM Toolbox. MDDT fetch the information from there, like name and password, type of connection and so on.

Settings are not a problem: I use the same IP or user authentication to connect via telnet & it works fine...
Then I tried Telnet on port 21 & it works...

How can check whether the FTP server is up & running?

Hi,

Its fixed now...It was the gateway which was causing the issue... It seems the FTP port is blocked on this router...

Changed the gateway & it worked like magic...

Just for curiosity: How can you check whether the FTP server is up & running?

FTP server on NIU should always be UP. if not the NIU is having troubles...

Is there any way to check if its up & running using commands... there must be something , somewhere rather than replacing NIU..
