hi, i'm new user of microsoft access. i have a question about access, is it possible to develop form in access 97 that will connect to a database(.mdb file) in the server, used by 5 users. Is it possible to just use ODBC for this problem.
i hope i can find the answer as soon as possible. thanks.

You should be able to just link to the tables on the server (and that is the preferred method with multiple users).

If you store the application (ie the mdb) on a sever then your 5 users simply execute the mdb ie go into Access and select the file as their database. This gives automatic sharing of everything. Access uses its own communication protocol.

You can split the database into several mdbs in which case you need to go into the Import dialogue and link to the tables in the other mdb(s) from whichever mdb the user is using as his front-end application.

You never use ODBC with Access talking to mdbs. Access won't let you. There's no point anyway.
