mdb in use when compressing, but only 1 user

I converted an Access97 app to Access2002 (n Windows XP). This app is secured, using a central application workgroup file.

Now I have a strange effect on XP: Each time when I try to repai and compress the mdb, a messagebox pops up saying, "that the mdb-file coud not be used, because its already in use" ?? But the mdb-file resides on my machine, and I am the only user (developer).

Can somebody help ?

Try going into a module (new) then compile your db.
then try to compact/repair
