MDB Format

Hi,

I am looking for any information on the format of the mdb files. I need to read from mdb files to gather data from the tables contained within. I could achieve this using an ODBC connection but ideally would like to read the file directly.

Has anybody here had any experience of the structure of the mdb files?

I have already used that link and although it does give some useful information it is not exhaustive.

I was just looking for any hands on experience of actually reading the mdb files if possible.

Using ODBC will be worlds easier than attempting to parse the MDB structure, but I don't know what your restrictions are.

Most people are satisfied with ODBC/DAO/OLEDB data access, so (as far as I know) not much effort goes towards reading the files natively.

Can't you use DAO or ADO?

I won't be able to use ADO or DAO I can use ODBC, I am just interested in accessing the file itself if possible.
