MDAC_Typ.exe wont install on clean 2000 comp, anyone suggest reasons??

I have a program that runs fine on WIndows 98 and NT. But for some reason it wont run on Windows 2000.

I have updated the DAO object Library reference. I have installed the Jet pack 4.0. But when I do to install the mdac_typ.exe it runs through the whole installtion and as it does something called "Roll back Data Access Objects" it fails and says unable to install. I have tried version 2.6 and 2.7 ... any suggestions??

Could it be permissions? Win2000 is a pickier OS than most about security. Ladyhawk.
