MDAC 1

Hi, Delphi experts.

I have just finish a project and it is time for shipping to our customers.
In my program I use ADO connection to a MSAccess and it needs MDAC version x.x.

The question is do I need MDAC a long with the installation program?
Doesn't almost every computer with Microsoft plattform have MDAC?
What do you think guys and girls?

MDAC that the program need is 2.1 or better and it doesn't need to support win95..

G'day!

WinXP does not need MDAC to be added - its built in.
Win9x flavours may not have the latest MDAC installed - unless the PC has Office installed.

Check out your target and install if needed. You should be able to safely use the installation script to install the latest MDAC as they are supposed to be downward compatible, and the MDAC installer won't load an older version. Remeber that size of the MDAC distribution - about 5.4MB for MDAC 2.8
