Hi all,
After a recent reboot we have issues with just one type of database connection from our Windows 2003 / IIS6 web server.

Basically whats occuring is that any of the sites on the server that are connecting to a flat file MS Access database file produce the error:

--
Provider error '8000ffff'
Catastrophic failure
--

This only occurs with websites using ASP while opening an MS Access database. Also only when using the generic ODBC drivers. If we use the Jet 4.0 driver we have installed it works fine.

The database is within the same websites folder. ACLs look perfectly fine on the database file and the website files. Settings in IIS seem fine for the site.

This has worked fine for 2 years on the same server. Only after a recent crash and reboot has it shown this error.

Could this perhaps be some corrupt MDAC file?
Or perhaps some permissions have been misplaced on one of the MDAC files?

Any easy way to diagnose or trace this? as Filemon is not showing any obvious permissions errors.

Any input appreciated.
Thanks.
