I'm working on an ODBC connection from the SCCS. I could not make the connection. In researching the error messages, we found that the MDAC we have on the SCCS is a different version than the one on the SQL db. Changing the one on the db is out of the question.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Does anyone know of a reason why upgrading the MDAC on the SCCS would cause a problem?
As far as I can tell, the only ODBC connection on SCCS is the Sybase connection to the Blue db. From what I can tell, this MDAC would only apply to SQL connections, I don't see that it would impact a Sybase connection.

I installed mdac on server with SCCS server because were a problems with connection to MS SQL Server throw HDX. But mdac installed before SCCS installation. All worked correctrly.
Most probably mdac installation dontn damage existing ODBC connections to Sybase.

What version of the MDAC did you install? Was it 2.7 by any chance?

The SQL db has version MDAC 2.6 RTM

The SCCS has version MDAC 2.5 SP3

I've asked some of our database gurus and I am going to try a couple of tests first. Unless someone knows why I should not mess with this, I will make the change to my secondary server and then place it in the active role. If all go's well, then I will replicate the change out to all my systems.
