Hello,
I need to install MDAC 2.8 on my Windows 2000 Machine. However, my installation keeps failing from an uspecified error. I currently have MDAC 2.5 (acutally, 2.53.62which came with Windows 2000 Service Pack 3). I got the MDAC 2.8 install file from the Windows Website.
The installation never states what the error is. I've run "C:\Mdac_typ.exe /C:"Setup /GC C:\Mdaclog.txt" in order to generate some sort of error report, but that didn't produce a file at all.
I've looked in dasetup.log. The end of this log file does indicate that an error took place, but it doesn't say what it is. I've tried to install MDAC 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8. I get the same failed installation every time. I've pasted the end of my dasetup.log file. The error appears near the very end. Can anyone decipher this at all? Any ideas would be very much appreciated!!
