MDAC 2.6 Trouble

I am installing SQL2k on a Win2000 Server and when installing after my information has been entered the first thing that is happening is the installation of MDAC 2.6. After attempting this process an Error message appears:

Installation of the Microsoft Data Access Components Package Failed (-1)

Does anybody know the reason for this, I believe I already have 2.6 installed after a Hotfix performed about 2 months ago.

I got the same message installing the client tools on a Win 2000 workstation. Looking for a solution.
