mdac 2.6 performance problems

We have upgraded from SQL Server 7.0 to 2000. Our application that was running on mdac 2.5 is now running slower on mdac 2.6. Since SQL Server 2000 installs mdac 2.6 as part of its installation, we are forced to use mdac 2.6. Now all our executables run 50 % slower on mdac 2.6 than the ones that run on mdac 2.5.

Has anyone else run into this?

Can we run mdac 2.5 against SQL Server 2000?

All mdac does is to give you drivers for database connections, and on this there are not many significant chages from 2.5, your performance issues are more likely at another place like a configuration issue somewhere, for more information on you issues with mdac please refer to FAQ at:

I have got the same problem than pdalberth.
I am running MDAC 2.5 in clients against Sql 2000 because if, I update to 2.6, crystal reports made with 7.0 version not running.

Why?
