MDAC 2.6, 2.7, openrowset patch

I have 3 machines.

machine 1. Sql server 2000. windows 2000 server. updated
to MDAC 2.62.7926.1

machine 2. windows 2000 server. updated to MDAC
2.62.7400.1

this seems ok, since they say its the same version, only
the version # is different.

However, machine 3. windows 2000 pro. updated to MDAC
2.70.7713.4

basically i was having problems with the openrowset in my
custom ole db provider. This fix should take care of
that. Machine 3 is the machine i compile this on. I
don't know why it jumped to 2.7 when i installed the 2.6
refresh sp2.

My question is, are these the proper versions to fix this
problem? Will recompiling the ole db on machine 3 and
then installing it on machine 1 work?
