If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.
I have an IP Call Center that is set up. I connect to the Call Center using a TLU77/1 T1 ISDN PRI connection.

Problem: you can call all three numbers internally but two of the three are DID numbers and cannot be called from public. When called from PUBLIC you get a Qwest message that the number is not in service, I receive this message on all numbers that are VACANT in the switch. I receive 4 digit from the CO on my DIDs
SET UP follows on both router & switch.
Cisco 3825 router has the following set on it
dial-peer voice 5004 voip
translation-profile outgoing IPCC_IVR
destination-pattern 5004
session protocol sipv2
session target ipv4:172.16.5.137
dtmf-relay sip-notify rtp-nte
codec g711ulaw

!
dial-peer voice 7890 voip
translation-profile outgoing IPCC_IVR
destination-pattern 7890
session protocol sipv2
session target ipv4:172.16.5.137
dtmf-relay sip-notify rtp-nte
codec g711ulaw

dial-peer voice 2500 voip

Which of the three *does* work when called from external?

Is there anything different about that number as compared to the other 2 with regard to number translation when those numbers come in from the PSTN?

How is the number that does work defined in number analysis compared to the 2 that don't work?

Dave Strang

5004 & 7980 are valid DID numbers and are the only 2 that I need to work from external and they don't.
2500 is only a valid internal number so no need to work from external
Sorry that may not have been clear.
in Number Analysis all three are set up as AC

I think that's your problem.You can't access a system feature from outside the system....abbreviated dial is a system feature.

Try converting those DID's into dest codes pointed at the PRI - set up just like dest code 320 (remember srt=1).

I've done this *many* times when I've needed to transit a call thru the MD to some other system (touchtone registration, emergency event server, digital modem pools, IP PBX's). You may have to play with the number formatting (use NUTRI) but only if calls fail.

Good luck,

Dave Strang

Could you expand more on treating them as DEST codes? I tried it and could not go through internal or external but may have done wrong.

I used a similar setup for a Diaphonics IVR and used
Abbreviated numbers for the application and I can call those from outside and inside on that
I used a TLU77 & ABB numbers. No Cisco router involved though

JosieL, what you are trying to do is tromboning. what version do you have(CADAP;) if you have BC12 or higher, you can allow tromboning by setting ASPAC 118 to 0. another solution is to reprogram the AC's to empty acd's with a CDINI to an AC (from BC11 you can use GH for that sort of functionality)

Setting ASPAP 118 made no difference
Setting up ACD group no difference
Setting up a GH group no difference
Still can't call 7980 or 5004 from external

try to remove the 'D' from your ABB codes.

try to make a call trace:

stuni:unit=SLP63,lim=x; (lim where PRI resides)
sttsi:tri=1;
/*make call*/
sttse:tri=1;
/* open logfile */
strap:tri=1;
/* close logfile */
analyse logfile with signal trace interpreter (sam toolbox)
if you don't have that, then past the trace here (keep it as short as possible) and explain the correct callcase

Finally working but really had to jump through HOOPS on this one.

Took the D out of the TRA in the Abbreviated Dial, but then you could only dial from external. Internal dialing would not work so....
Added a Generic Extension and put a PELPI on it to the External number and it works. It's a trunk hungry solution but it works.
