I´am new in the telephone and voip-field, so please forgive me if I´am not clear enough or asking some trivial things.
My objective is to connect a voip-asterisk installation via ISDN BRIs to a MD110. We want to route a couple (around 40) numbers with up to 6 to 8 parallel connections from the MD to asterisk and back. The MD110 is on software level BC10 and a fairly large installation at our campus (university of technology vienna), ISDN protocol is DSS1, asterisk is a open source voip pbx system.
possibilities on MD side:
a) ELU 28 + S0 adapter multimedia extension ISDN BRIs
b) TLU 79 ptp
c) ELU 26 ptm
Questions I have:
- the manual pages of ELU 28 states of being capable ptp or ptm modus, is ptp and trunling possible?
- the ELU 26 seems like there is a low limit how many numbers this card can handle, is it also true on the ELU28?
- or is it easier to go with a TLU76/1 and a E1-trunk?
- can someone provide me with configuration examples?
I have a test setup now with one ELU 28+S0 adapter connected to asterisk. Only every third call from MD to asterisk is successfull, otherwise ISDN cause 3303 (layer 3 protocol error) is returned. From asterisk to MD no call is successfull, ISDN cause 349B (destination out of service). As the ISDN card in asterisk box will be changed shortly and I have the feeling that it is it to cause the problems in not supporting the full ISDN protocol, I´am not longer investigating it - perhaps you can confirm this?
