Hi there,

I am on my way to be a Enterprise Admin, and i understand a Desktop Deployment cert is required. I am wondering if I should go ahead with the current MCTS on Vista or should i wait for the MCTS on Win 7? Any comments appreciated.

Well...the 70-620 exam (Vista) was a walk in the park. Windows 7 hasn't shipped yet, and doesn't look like it will ship until this summer at the soonest (but possibly not until December). The Windows 7 exam will not be available under after Windows 7 is released. So if you want that MCITP anytime soon, go for Vista. If you can afford to potentially wait a year, wait for Windows 7. Or get Vista now and then when the Windows 7 exam comes out take it.

I'll put it this way. Certs usually are released 4-6 months after the product ships.

Hi All,

Thanks for your insight. I shall ponder on this. :)

I've just done 70 620 today and passed with 892, it wasn't quite as straight forward as I was expecting! I did the 622 MCTS while it was in its beta phase so should get MCITP enterprise support now.

I'm planning on upgrading my MCSE in the next month and the path specifies the vista client exam, they're not likely to remove it due to an alternate OS coming out.

I say go for it! IF you need any tips on what I was tested with feel free to ask!

(Ps, anyone remember how you change your signiture?!)

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Hello JonesNW,

I would be writing this exam next weekend(04/04/09).I would appreciate if you could help out with the materials u used for the exams, dumps etc..my email account is ejaritte@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks.

Windows30,
Brain Dumps are a violation of the EULA you have to agree to when taking the exams, not to mention cheating. Those of us that have taking Microsoft Exams and passed without cheating would prefer if you didn't cheat on the exams which just makes the certifications that we have earned worthless.

Here here! Say no to brain dumps.

Besides, the 70-620 exam is so easy you shouldn't need them. I used the TestOut material and it took me all of 20 minutes to pass the exam.

Most of the MS Press books have sample tests on the CD/DVD that comes with the book.

And back to the point of the original post, the 70-680 exam (MCTS: Windows 7, Configuring) is available now. If I had to choose between it and the 70-620, I'd do the Windows 7 exam instead. It will be more important going forward, and will still count towards the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator certification like the Vista exam did.
