McShield

Mcshield is causing Dr Watson errors and disabling itself.

Happening on NT4 (various SP's) clients.

Any ideas?

McShield is in a lot of products. Can you specify what product you're having a problem with?

Yep, I'd agree - I've had the same problem with NT server and workstation. The server problem was solved by installing SP6e (only had SP4 on before).

Experienced same problem with Multiple Dr Watsons stopping McShield.EXE and essentially disabling Netshield. I'm running NT4.0 SP6A with Netshield (version 4.5).

I eliminated the problem by following this sequence:
1st.... apply the SP1 patch for Netshield 4.5....
2nd.... if problem persists there is a registry hack that can be found in the FAQs for the product.
