Mcshield.exe eating up the processes \ CPU usage

I start noticing the mcshield.exe processes starting to eat up the processes on individual computers and it varies, from the EPO server it was running at peak of 25,000-30,000 and on some local workstations it's at a peak ranging from 30,000-80,000 in short it's taking up all the processes, I don't want to kill the processes but at least can I drop it down so it only uses 10,000 or below if I can do that, I am running EPO version patch 10 and our agent version is 3.5.0.456, Thanks for the help in advance!
