Hello,

Wondering if someone can advise me on how to tackle this, i started a new job this week, i had a problem where after i came back home i studied too much causing me to suffer stress (this was in my previous job).

I have now started a job where i will finish at 5pm which is good, it also involves oncall rotation for 1 week.

I would love to know how you would balance this to find the time to study, opinions are greatly appreciated.

I don't know what you consider "too much", but when I was studying for exams I usually would dedicate an hour each nite to study, and then several hours on the weekends. I usually tried to keep the study sessions down to 60-90 minutes at max, and on weekends did two or three sessions. I was also working towards a deadline, so it was a little more difficult. I find that I learn best in smaller chunks like that. Plus they're easier to fit in after my wife goes to bed.

When you find out let me know. It's always a struggle and is different for each person. I learn best in study sessions with others. If you can find a local users group that might have people studying for the same certs, you might be able to form a study group.

Balancing professional and personal lives can be difficult.

I study like kmcferrin does. I usually had an hour set aside during the day to study. I'd usually study a few hours on the weekend.

Each person is different. find what works for you.
