I AM STARTING THE NIGHT CLASSES AND I AM HAVING A HUGE AMOUNT OF ANXIETY OVER THIS. IS THE MSCE TRACK AND EXAMS AS HARD AS IT SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE OR IS THIS ALL MY NERVES. I KNOW IT DEPENDS ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE SOFTWARE... I HAVE ABOUT 12 PC'S RINNING 2000 AND STILL HAVE AN NT SERVER AS WELL AS MANY NT PC'S. I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AD. I WORK 53 HOURS A WEEK AND WILL BE IN CLASS 16 HOURS A WEEK AT NIGHT. DID YOU GET THROUGH IT WHILE WORKING AND STILL LIVING.
THANKS... LISA

The most difficult exam in the track would be the Network Infrastructure exam.Active Directory is hard but if you know your stuff, you can easily pass it. It will focus solely on active directory integrated DNS, domain migration,AD Sites , GPOs and OUs, and other stuffs including RIS and the like. Network Infrastructure will focus on the sole of the network like IP Addressing/VLSM,DHCP,DNS,WINS,Certificates,RRAS and other networking stuff. I used transcender to pass my MCSE 2000, but I would say you can't use the transcender alone to pass the Network Infrastructure exam, It'll be a combination of research and hands on.But for other exams like Prof. , Server, AD,Security and he likes. It'll be a breeze.

Lisa, I will be taking 70-219 on Saturday. This will be my seventh exam and if I pass I will have my MCSE. I did not attend classes. I took a home study course that I will not name because I don't recommend them. I could not have passed any of the exams with just the courseware. For each exam I also read one or two books and purchased both the SelfTest and Measureup practice exams because they were recommended by Microsoft. Some of the exams may be easy for some but I found them all very difficult. I did fairly well on two and I passed by a narrow margin on four. I failed 70-216 the first time and passed the second time. All the others were done in the first try. I did it while working as admin for an NT network (3 servers, 80 workstations)and it has taken me two years to get to this point. My advice, study until you think you know it and then study some more. Use the practice exams and make certain you understand the Microsoft answer. Hope that helps.

Wow Lisa...

Sounds like you have quite a bit going on! Welcome to my world...

I took my MCSE exams (without any classes) during a period where I was:

Rehabing my home
My wife was pregnant
We were taking lamaz classes
I was working full time
I was developing a Windows 2000 Roll out for 50 sites
I was leading a group on diffrent outdoor adventures
and more...

So yep, you can get through it and have a life!

Oh yeah... I usualy studied 2 or so hours a day... (sometimes at work :)~

If ya need any pointers let me know.

CJ

Don't drink and post, save that for driving home!
