I am a highschool student going for my CCNA certification which I will be done with by January. Would an MCSE certification help me get a job also? And how many classes is MCSE? Any information would be extremely helpful, thanks.
IS the CCAN being provided by the school? Yes the MCSE owuld help get a job. What will really help you land a job in todays competative maket it EXPERIENCE! The certifications are great eye candy and WILL help get your foot in the door, but experience will land a good job at a good pay rate. I make more $ than another guy where I work and he is a full MCSE. He makes less than $31K a year. He has little real world experience. I have over 6 years (though that is not as much as many on this board) of industry experience with a few certifications. James Collins

The best thing to do while pursuing your certs would be to find an internship, even if its not paid for as little as one day a week so that you'll hav some kind of experience on your resume. Also, you will get a better understanding of what part of the field you'd like to get into. In large companies job roles are strictly defined. Knowing Cisco would put you in a totally different position thatn knowing Microsoft W2K. Basically, you may want to consider what YOU prefer and take that route.
AS for a direct answer to your question, of course another cert such as the MCSE would make your chances of landing a job better.
I recommend developing communication skills as well as business skills. The ability to "network" with other people, especially managers and sales people, will help you get the job you want, not just a job.
There are all sorts of books and courses (books like "From Serf to Surfer", courses like the Dale Carnegie series) that you might be able to get free or at a reduced rate because you're in school.
Good luck and keep up the good work!!
Setnaffa is an MCSE-4.0 with a few other certs, too...
