Ok.. I feel really stupid.
I've takin the MS Windows 2000 professional test 2 times now.. TWICE!! and guess what.. I still don't have an MCP. I've been working with computers for a long time now and Win2k since it was released. I just can't figure out why I can't pass this exam. I've studied and read so many different resources that I could write my own book. I've got a 510 on each test (which take a 540 to pass) now. I guess i'm just looking for some advice.. Am I using the wrong train of thought? Is old Bill himself screwin me over? Or, am I just plain stupid?? Please, if you have any advice for me (usefull advice, I don't need any more sarcasim) please send it my way!! Thanks to anybody!!

Just a thought. Have you taken a preparation class for the exam. I took one at the local college here and it was very helpful in getting me to the point of being able to pass the exam. I do use W2k at work and have since it has been released but there was alot of things in the class that I don't think I would have learned without it.

I should of told you that I'm graduating this summer with a Network Administration Degree.. so Yes, I am taking classes for the exam. Its gonna be pretty sad that I have a degree yet can't pass the exams huh? Well, its just so frustrating cause its holding me up from taking my other exams. I was told Professional is one of the hardest tests so thats the one I really want to get out of the way.

I wish I could be of more help, the only other thing I would suggest is to try some practice exams and just keep taking them over and over until you are familiar with the questions and the answers. I know that when I took the A+ class, most of it was stuff I already knew but there was other trouble areas I just have trouble completely understanding and the only way I got through that is to take the practice exam on those particular chapters over and over until I was familiar with q and a's.

Have you been using practice exams to see where your troubles are? I recommend for great FREE practice exams, and the best of the best, Transcenders if you can fork out the dough. If you use take these exams, you will know where your weakness lies, Transcender is worth the money if you can afford it, try for the 70-210 software... Good Luck =)

I would also highly suggest printing out the Exam Objectives from Microsofts website, then check them off one by one as you study the objectives. Here is the link: just scroll down to the 'Skills Being Measured' portion of the page, that's it :)

Let us know how things work out, I'm sure you will nail it next time ;)

Also, don't get down on yourself. You have had 2 chances so you are more familiar with the question pools. It is a passable test. Take a day off from studying and try to clear your mind then take some of the practice tests. There are some great resources on the net that are free that can help you. Either way, go into the testing center with confidence!
