I have only just passed the MCSA exam by completing 20-210,20-215, 20-218, 20-216. I am thinking of moving on to MCSE but not sure of the best way to go. Do I upgrade to the MCSA 2003 and then take the MCSE 2003 exams. Also if possible I would like to include the MCDBA without taking any more (i.e 70-229 and 70-228 + more) , not sure if this is possible.

probably taking 70-217 and 70-219 and 1 more gets you the w2k mcse and then 2 more gets you 2003... but you need to decide why you want the cert and whether it's worth it...

Peggers,

Don't forget if you are both CompTIA A+ & Net + certified it counts as an elective towards the MCSE cert. As it looks it looks like you have 2 tests remaining a design test (best bet would be 70-219) and an elective (maybe ISA?). If you want to upgrade to 2K03 it's another 2 exams. 1 to upgrade the MCSA and 1 for the MCSE.

Just wondering, I see you're security+, is that the msce security? I am interested in this exam , would I be better taking 70-220 Security (Design) as my design requirement. I'm thinking of forgetting about MCDBA and concentrating on security, much more interesting.
I plan to take my mcse first and then take the ones required for mcse:securty. Would 70-220 class as one a security specialization for both mcse and then mcse:security.
If I did this and the 70-214 as an elective as well as 70-217 (think this is core networking, so gotta take it) I think I would have an MCSE. Also if I took the comptia exams afterward, would I then be mcse security.
Cheers
Phew!
