I have a 400 and 50 both 3.7 on the same network. Do i have to use a MCDN keycode to get them to talk to each other? I bought VoIP Gateways for both, is the MCDN required as well?

They will talk but you may not get Name displays and trunk tandemming won't work either.

will i need MCDN on both ends?

I've connected BCM 3.6 and BCM 50's together via VOIP without MCDN and it works fine. Name display comes across, tandem calls work, no problems. You get a 'stripped down' version of MCDN with the IP trunks. You'll need MCDN if doing centralized voicemail or connecting BCM's over a PRI though.

Does the MCDN work with the Gateways? I've only used it like biv said with PRI circuits.

Sure - if you're using centralized voicemail over IP trunks you need MCDN to pass the MWI messages.

thanks biv.
