Gents,

Ive got a weird sip issue which started this morning, all been working fine since April, then today incoming calls which terminate on an Auto Attendant have stopped working, callers hear 1 burst of ringing then silence. All incoming direct dial calls are ok, all outgoing ok. Ringing the AA internally works fine so the vmail is ok, tried reboot, tried restoring an earllier database, still no joy, SIP trace shows call coming in, showing the 12 digit number coming in, eg. 441915xxxxxx (stripping off 6 in trunk service ass.) Then using speed call entry to point to my AA which is 701. Sip trace dosent show 701 but shows voicemail port 6xx which seems to answer call. Its as if the 3300 dosent open up transmission path, pressing digits dosent get to anywhere either.

Trunks are BT SIP which are hosted by HIPCOM. Any ideas much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Steve

might be codec related , embedded vmail only works as G711
Do you have any compression licenses?

what codec is shown in sip trace

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

and due to an endless stream of MiCollab , MiCC issues
Life would be simpler If only they tested products properly before releasing them .....

I presume that as the are BT SIP trunks they do not terminate on an MBG, but rather straight to the MCD. Try doing a 'SIP TCPDUMP ON' make a test call and then 'SIP TCPDUMP OFF'. You can then FTP a wirteshark trace off the MCD and see what messages are sent between the MCD and SIP Peer during the call. May help identify what is causing the issue.

I assume you have checked the voice mail ports are working by dialling each one individually as well as the AA pilot number?

also try an extension diverted to embedded mailbox
- make a incoming trunk call to it - is prompt heard and can message be left , if not I suspect again its codec related

perhaps the carrier has now changed from g711 to g729

Guys,

Resolved, Firewall update early Monday morning had removed SIP from protocols allowed. How it only affected Vmail calls I've no idea.

Thanks for your replies.
