Hi is anyone running 3300 MCD/MiVoice 7 (or 8) with per cabs?
We have a cluster of 5 physical and 2 virtual 3300s running on MCD 6 but we still have 14 Peripheral cabinets supporting 1000 DNI and 800 ONS extensions. As MCD 6 is no longer a supported load we'd like to move to MCD7 and while Per cabs are not supported would they still work? As MCD 7 will imminently fall out of support, the same question goes for MCD 8, would per cabs still work if we were to move to MCD 8? Is anyone running either of these configs? In the meantime we are running a program of upgrades to eliminate the Per Cabs but it's not going to be complete in the near future.

Thanks,
John.

7.0 sp1 I think you can use up to.
I have upgraded a system that we were removing the per cabnets from and they were still working.
It is not officially supported and I did not test extensively.

Thanks,

Hi

I have a similar situation we are currently running MiVoice 7.0 load 13.0.0.80 with Per cabs and are thinking about upgrading to MiVoice 8

It is not yet clear if we can upgrade to MiVoice 8 and still have working Per cabs so am asking the same question will the Per cabs still work on MiVoice 8 ?

Thanks

Hi

I have just had confirmation from Mitel below

Although per cabs are not supported in Release 7 or 8, the code is still there, so you could upgrade.
I am told the code will definitely be removed in Release 9.

We've got a per cab working on MCD8, although i was concerned as it took a very long while to come in after the upgrade. Seems to have been OK since, approx 4 months.
