Is 5.0 already on MOL for download?

Daniel

The course is not out yet, that would happen before it's GR'ed

You can register for Leader Lead training but the s/w has not been released yet.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

ver 5.0 update online training has just become available - no sign of the software yet - wont be long

Thanks Fissure

I just downloaded it. I'll install it if I find some time today.

Regards,

Daniel

A couple of things I found need a new password in the AMC as you are going from MCD 4 to MCD 5. You need the software assurance activated to get the password or rather the option in the pull down to show MCD 5. Immediately asked me to change the password on the default system account when I logged in. Looks same as MCD 4 until you start opening the forms and see the changes.

Did an new install on a CXi that was at MCD 4.2 and it completed the upgrade in 22 minutes ( this included a backup of programming but the embedded voicemail was not used so backup and hopefully restore will be quick ). At this point I need to retrieve licenses and restore database but am waiting for the software assurance to get reactivated on my lab switch.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Loopy,

Thanks for your input. I'll try it tomorrow with a CXi controller I have in the office for testing.

I already chenged the software version to 5.0 in the AMC.

Regards,

Daniel

we upgraded a CX (version 1) from v4.2 to v5

took about 1 hour 22 mins (not that many mailboxes etc)

we didn't update the software version from v4.2 to v5 in the AMC prior to doing this (the upgrade process did this).

I think a thread here (not about v5) said best to let that happen (and not change it yourself)

That is correct if you licence online you do not need to change the version. The AMC detects which version that is being upgraded and then checks to see if software assurance is enabled it then updates the version for reference.
Version type is purely for off line downloading of licence files where you have to tell the AMC which version so that you can download the correct password.

Supernova,

Correct! I just upgraded from 4.2 to 5.0 and didn't need to make any changes to AMC profile.

Regards,

Daniel

Finally, scheduled backups woo hoo.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Loopylou - I see your woo hoo and raise you abso-f***ingtastic

heads uo:

going from v4.2 to v5

our scheduled switches from day to night 1/night 2 look to have broken

they're still there, but missing the part which tells them which mode to switch to (eg day/night1/night2)

have tried editing them (rather than deleting and re-adding) and will see if they work over night

Seems a bit slow on my CX now you mention it.

Has anyone managed to connect to Nupoint on MAS as a trusted user yet?

(MCD 5.0 / MAS 3.0.28)

ESM does seem slower ( maybe I'm just impatient ). PRI card didn't work after upgrade and am having to run off failover card for now. Not 100% sure its not a card issue as I have had some issue with that card before. Anyone try to pooled licenses yet?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

bearvalley - Release Notes for MAS 3.0 SP 1 states in red text that SP1 supports MCD 5.0 but does NOT support Trusted Applications and you must disable Trusted Applications in MCD 5..0.

LoopyLou - Just finished upgrading all our Demo systems. Next is to try the Enterprise License Sharing. Hope it works because you can't go back.
