In previous loads of software, the system did not count MB 0 or MB 9999 against the licensed MB's. With 1 license installed on a system you could create 1 and have the other 2 as well.

I noticed yesterday on a small system that I have 14 mailbox licenses and 16 mailboxes (counting 0 and 9999) and my license capacity display shows that I am using 15 VM licenses.

This is a bad thing me thinks.

I'm guessin it's operators mailbox then? Might be intresting to install MCD 5 fresh and see what mailboxes are there to start with.

Do you think it's a oversight by mitel or done on purpose?

I think it is a change. I speculate it is unintentional.

I have MCD 5.0 with only 1 mailbox license applied

I have user mailbox for ext 400 and alos mailbox for 0 and mailbox for 999.
Only 1 license is shown as being in use ?

Similar to Billz66,

1 mailbox license installed.
No mailbox besides 0 and 999, system shows 0 in use.

New install of MCD5.0 (Not upgraded)

I guess I need to recount then.

I show 0, 9999 and two other mailboxs.

Licenses consumed 2

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Ok, I see my problem now.

Before release 5 the licenses would be shown as:
[tt]
Purchased Used
15 13

With release 5 is now shows:

Consumed Allocated
13 15[/tt]

So not only have they reversed the relative positions but they are using the word allocated to mean available. Allocated means assigned (they obviaously mean allocated to the system, not allocated to the user as I read it). Poor grammar on Mitel's part.

It's most likely due to the licensing change that came out with version 5. You can now have licenses assigned to a 'pool' and allocate these to controllers in the group to be used. There is a new column called 'Purchased' that shows how many licenses of that type you have purchased.

You call also temporarily over subscribe a particular license to do kind of a "try and buy". It expires so you either have to delete the programming or add required licenses.

I tried to create an EHDU without a license (over subscribe)

It wouldn't let me.

you have to go to licenses and options first and allocate 1 locally.
forst then you should be able to program it.
The system goes into license violation and the counter starts counting.
eventually depending upon wwhat you have doe it will stop working unless you delete it and remove the license or buy the lisense

I think this is to do with enterprise licencing
So you can only move the purchased mailboxes and not the default ones
