In a 3300 MCD 5.0 with 5 Loop/Start trunks I have a ring group that is programmed to overflow to a menu tree.
After the right amount of rings the caller is answered by the System Auto Attendant and NOT to the menu tree where the callers are suppose to be routed.
What gives and how do I make the menu tree answer the overflow as it should?

What is the prime extension of the ring group and is it the same as the menu tree?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thank you Loopy:
The ring group pilot number is 1051. 1051 is an ons extension off of the back of the 3300.
The ring group has two members which are two end users that mgt wants their calls to be answered by during the day. If they fail to answer the call with 4 rings it is suppose to go to a menu tree mailbox numbered 1060 that has 2 options: "1" to hear the message in English and "8" to hear the message in Spanish which tell them " to dial the extension of the person they are trying to get or press "9" for the directory........

Rather tahn use overflow in the ring group I would programme a Call rerroute to go to the voicemail hunt group of 1051. Its odd sometimes the way 3300 treats trunk calls that are transferred.

So set up a first alternative to go to trunk hunt group DN

Then set up a Call reroute on 1051 to that first alternative.

It should then go to the mailbox of 1051 which i assume is where your menu tree is set up...

Delete the overflow from ring group.

I think that will work.

on forward to voicemail the call voicemail will look for a mailbox 1051. If it is not there then that is why you get the general AA. If you need it to go to a tree mailbox 1060, you have to shed the 1051 be sending it to a name tag hunt group 1060 first. Then forward that hunt group to VM. Calls would then go to the 1060 tree.

There are a number of posts re how to shed an extension number in this forum if you need more details.
