MCD 4.2 "Mailbox is in use"

3300 CXI II with 4.2 sp1. I've just completed a new, small install today and came across this- when you log into a mailbox everything is ok, but if you hang up and then try to log back in you get message played "that mailbox is busy please try again later" or something very similar. If you leave it for a minute or so you can log back in all ok. And there is also about 1 minute of delay before an MWI lights when a new message is left. I've checked the obvious, there are 16 vm ports, all with the same COS and all 16 are in 1 single VM hunt group. Any ideas what this could be???

How log between hangup and calling back in?

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Is your hunt group circular?

I would use the maintenance command State X X X X to determine how long after hangup the VM port clears down. It should only take 1 second.

If it takes 5 or more seconds, I would try and see if a COS option might be causing issues. You can compare your VM COS with the default one that would be provided if you used the config wizard. You can find these values in the help files by searching... Defaults , one of the matches will be for Defaults Applied to the 3300. Compare your COS options to the defaults and change where applicable.
