With MCD 4.1 resilient licenses are free. Is that the case for ACD resiliency too?

I don't think so, in other words you require licensing for ACD - I've not been able to confirm this 100%.

thanks

you require an acd license on the resilient controller. I have a mitel powerpoint in front of me.

ACD Agent Licensing

Standalone and Enterprise Systems support ACD Agent Licenses
Standard users or enterprise users can now be ACD hot desk users
ACD hot desk users can consume either a standard or enterprise license
A resilient ACD Agent license on a secondary controller is still required for resilience
Traditional ACD Agent log-in
Multiple users one license
A user license not required for Agent ID
The device the user logs into requires a User license

But in 5 that disappears i think and you no longer need it.

IN MCD 5.0

Standard Active Agent license - $120
Enterprise Active Agent licenses - $150

Resilient ACD license will be eliminated and no longer required
System will no longer require an agent license on the secondary controller for failover

ok, is this a proper resilient license or an active acd license?

enterprise active acd license = active acd license + resilient active acd license

on 4.1 i think its a resilient agent license on secondary and in 5 it changes to enterprise active

nah, 5 it falls away completely according to the info I have.
i agree with your summation on 4.1 though. just need it confirmed by someone that has actually implemented it to be sure

thanks for the replies

I want to know who's the A-hole with the MBA that dreamed this whole hodgepodge up and then thought it would be a great deal us fun to handcuff everyone to the rollercoaster. I feel like there is more education in staying up to Mitel here lately than content that could be packked into an Astrophysics Phd graduate course.

It has been a gradual process of making licensing easier.
Up to now as above it can be very complicated and expensive.
There are a lot of customers who have paid for full resiliency for device, user & ACD who getting it now would be much cheaper.
Going to the enterprise model (enterprise is anyone with 2 or more systems) will certainly make things much easier for new customers.
I have been installing licences on the 3300 from rel 3.0 and as you say it has been a roller coaster!
Imagine having to put the licences on and having to perform a data restore every-time even for 1 user licence.
We were so glad when 4.1 came along and put a end to that.
