Hello. I have setup a Multi Level Auto Attendant and have the dial by extension setup but our tenant would like a dial by name function. Can this be setup in a Multi Level Auto Attendant? I cannot seem to get it to dial by name. I have checked the Voicemail Options form and selected to dial by first name to no avail. Please help! Thank you!!

Dial by name and Dial by extension are only accessible from the Top Level Auto-attendant.

MLAA - Mailboxes only allow single digit transfers.

Yes it sucks.

Thank you kwbMitel! I agree. I have never setup a top level auto attendant and the help files are very vague. Any suggestions or resource docs you can provide to get one setup? Thanks

The top level is what answers a direct call.

In the options you can enable transfer to any extension. (Without this you can only transfer to mailboxes)

Dial by name is digit 9 - cannot be changed

Single digit mailboxes can be used for various functions.

Recordings (open and Closed) are done thru the admin mailbox.

Not much more to tell.

Thank you kwbMitel. I understand the makeup and functions as they pertain to the top level auto attendant, I am just unsure as to how to route callers to the open greeting as this is a 24/7 operation for our tenant. I'm used to NuPoint Call Director and the basics of embedded in some ways are eluding me. I went into the administrator mailbox and recorded a temporary greeting for today just to test but I can seem to figure out how to route the DID to that particular auto attendant? Define a greeting set? I have recorded RADs before and been successful in that. Thanks

program the did as a speedcall and the actual digits as your VM huntgroup

VM Business hours can be programmed to always be open (or Closed)

You can also record the same greeting for day and night (uploadable is easiest)

Dial the VM huntgroup from a phone without a mailbox and it will answer with the Main Level AA

From a phone with a mailbox dial VM then press star then another star and you will hear the AA.

Thanks so much! I will test that out and see how it works;)
