I am currently using McAfee 6.0 but have heard some very disturbing things about it. It does seem to have affected my computer, but not nearly to the extent I've heard of. Norton seems to be highly touted.

Question is should I keep McAfee or remove it and install Norton?

If you're having problems with the AV, contact the vendor and sort the problem out. Although it helps to ask the forums, the vendor would be in the best position to do so.

I have Norton 2000 on my home machine and it hangs ALL the time. We use Inoculate IT on our network and never have had a problem with it.

IMHO, Inoculate is not in the league of McAfee and Norton. Quite unfortunate in that it used to be a very good AV. Suggest you stick with any of the two. Another option would be Kaspersky AV.

Well, if you have a quick scan of the McAfee and the Norton
forums, I'll think you'll see quite a difference. I had McAfee and it ended up costing me a fortune (I'm not great with computers) to identify that the problem was with McAfee. If you get Norton, some people have had problems with the trial one and then converting to buying it. I'd suggest buying the CD at a store. NIS 2002 does work with Windows XP in case you're going to upgrade your computer in the future. I also have "The Cleaner" which scans for tons of trojans. Just my opinion--perhaps there are some happy McAfee fans out there but I gave up on it.
