Hi there,

I have to install McAfee VirusScan Home Edition 7.0 in a machine with Windows 2000 Server. The problem is that neither the VirusScan Home Edition nor the Professional Edition are compatible with Windows 2000 Server. The thing is that the machine where it will be installed doesn't act as a server but as a Workstation. How can I make that the Windows 2000 Server behaves as a Windows 2000 Pro so VirusScan works?

Thanks in advance,

Guido.

You cannot. Even though it is only "acting" like a workstation, it is still a copy of Windows 2000 server. You'll have to buck up and buy the server antivirus product, or downgrade the machine to Windows 2000 Professional. I recommend the downgrade since you're not using any of the server features.
