McAfee Virus Scan V 4.5.1 [McShield Errors]

Hi,

I am having a few errors with a Win 2k client machine. When the user logs into the PC VS is loaded on the sys tray and the icons appear, however they get the hour glass symbol and it seems that VS is trying to load/access something. It then disables itself and the icon in the task bar goes blue.

Once it stops after a minute or so it produces this error

Event Id: 7031

Discription: McShield service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this X times. The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds. No action.

Anyone had this before? I have tried searching the NAI support database but can only find similar things related to NT server etc. Out of all the 2k PC's we have here I have not seen this before.

Still cant find anything on this. Maybe its a sharing violation, surely someone must have had this problem ?

I have tried re-installing Mcafee, which under the administrator account made a difference and the McShield error disapeard. Once the user logged in again the problem was still there, so I can only think its a security / profile issue ?

Try changing the account the service uses to a Administrator account, not using LocalSystem. This should fix this.
