McAfee Internet Security and low virtual memory problems

I have windows XP professional and have tried usinf McAfee Internet Security v4 which consists of 3 products - Virusscan, Firewall and Internet Security.
When I only install Virus scan there are no problems.
When I install the Firewall I gert a problem - the pagefile starts increasing minute on minute until it reaches 2Gb and then I get a low memory error warning.
You can see the effects of this by going to task manager and clicking on 'performance' and watch the page file grow in size.
You may not know you have tthis problem - McAfee says no one else has reported it - I've recrated the same symptoms on 3 differennt machines so it seems down to the Firewall - incidentally I have isolated it to this by both going through the arduous clean boot routine and by uninstalling the package and only step by step installing its individual components.
Anyone else had this or know of a solution?

I have discoverd part of the cause to this problem.
If you install MIS on a networked PC and the network is switched on it is OK. However, if you switch off the other LLAN PCs, as I did for security reasons, then something in XP or MIS keeps hunting for the LAN and makes the SVCHOST.EXE file/page file grow in size.
Simmilarly if you install MIS on a standalone PC, before installing either a modem or network card then the same problem occurs.
If you only install the McAfee virus scan there is not a problem. It only occurs when you instll the firewall component.

I get the exact same problem in Windos XP, however I do not have any McAffe products installed. In fact, as of now I do not have an antivrus/firewall. Any ideas?
