We recently deployed EPOagent 3.0. Some of our machines receive system errors upon startup:

The description for Event ID ( 7022 ) in Source ( Service Control Manager ) could not be found. It contains the following insertion string(s): McAfee Framework Service

Uninstalling and reinstalling the agent does not fix the issue. The service eventually starts, but something isn't right.
The machines are currently running NT 4.0. Any suggestions?

My Framwork Service wont start also.

Im running Windows 2000 Server. The service runs fine on clients, however not the server

Its actually not even showing in my services.msc listing. When I try to install it. It errors out.

I'm having the same problem it is only on windows nt 4.0 workstation, all the windows 2k, xp or event NT Server machines do not experience this problem. I contacted NAI about the problem and they told me that nt times out during the service startup. Does any one know how to set the timeout for a Windows NT service?

I had the same issue with some of my servers, and it turned out that the original installtion had failed because the servers were heavily loaded at the time of distribution, and the install could not complete. Trying to re-install seemed to make it worse, as it still held the process information from the previous install, and continued to time out.

I scheduled a reboot for the machines, and manually set the distribution tasks for each server (5 in total!), and then when it rebooted it cleared the memory. The distribution then attempted to remove the application (it was registered on 3 of the servers), and then tried to re-install, which was succesful.

Hope this helps.
